We run Emergency First Aid at work (EFAW) courses several times a month. The 6-hour course covers
- Treatment of the unconscious casualty
- CPR techniques
- Dealing with bleeding
- Medical emergencies
- A system for dealing with incidents
- Calling for help
- Contents of a first aid kit
The course covers the minimum emergency First Aid requirements as recommended by the HSE. The course is designed to teach a designated person in each workplace how to deal with common medical emergencies, from asthma and heart attacks to bleeds and breaks. The focus is on teaching a memorable system to work through, so first aiders have a clear order of priorities when dealing with incidents. You’ll get lots of practice dealing with scenarios, designed to help you feel calm and confident in an emergency.
The successful participants (which we expect will be everybody!) will receive an “Emergency First Aid at Work” certificate, accredited by Active Aid, who are members of the First Aid Industry Body.
